YOUTH PARLIAMENT COMPETITION IN KENDRIYA VIDAYALAYAS

Introduction

                        In the year 1978, Kendriya Vidyalayas located in and around Delhi were incorporated into the ongoing Youth Parliament Competitions in the Higher Secondary Schools under the Directorate of Education, Government of N.C.T. of Delhi. Gradually, due to increase in number of schools, in 1983, a separate scheme was launched for the Kendriya Vidyalayas in and around  Delhi on  lines similar  to that of  the Senior Secondary Schools in Directorate of Education, Government of N.C.T. of Delhi. In the year 1988, the scheme of Youth Parliament was launched at the National level in Kendriya Vidyalayas, as a part of celebrations of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru birth centenary and 40 years of India=s Independence.
